Ahcene Moussaoui

Ahcene Moussaoui has been training in Shotokan Karate for almost 44 years and holds the senior grade of 7th Dan.and A Class Instructor  graduated from iskf instructor  training program,also a  former international competitor   .,  a Full time Karate  instructor .Sensei Ahcene Moussaoui has run the Sobell Karate Club  in  North London Islington  Since 1997 and has coached students to innumerable grading and competition success, producing both senior instructors and champions of national and international standard. With a direct Shotokan lineage and rich heritage gained under the Japanese master Enoeda 9th Dan
. He has also worked in night club security for many years in New Cross,and Central London which involved dealing with many real life situations .and 10 years  with security team  at the french   bank  bnp paribas in London Sensei , Ahcene Moussaoui  is a former member of the JKA&KUGB. He was instructed and graded up to 5th Dan by JKA  6th and 7th Dan by iskf..

From 1984 to 1989 Moussaoui Sensei was a member of the Algerian national team. He was selected to represent Algeria at the World Championships in 1986 held in Australia. In 1988 he took part in the World Championships held in Egypt and in 1989 won a bronze medal at the Mediterranean Cup for team Kumite.
​ 1989 he moved to the UK to train with Enoeda Sensei (9th Dan) at the legendary Marshall Street Dojo; headquarters of the JKA Europe. He progressed to become a member of the late Keinosuke Enoeda Sensei’s famous Marshall Street club team from 1989 to 2003 that won gold, silver and bronze at the Southern Region ,Inter-Regional, Nationals championships and International Enoeda cup several times. Additionally, he won the Marshall Street individual kumite competition 1st place  in 1994 and1997, in the same year1994 won 1st place team kumite & 1st place team kata in the Southern Region kugb, 2nd place team kumite at the kugb Nationals and passed Yondan JKA  in that year., He then trained at Budokwai from 2000 to 2003 until Sensei Enoeda sadly passed away. Moussaoui Sensei was a member of the Marshall Street and Budokwai karate club committee until 2003.

He represented England at the JKA European Championships in Boulogne- sur-mer  France in 1998 and again in Maastrict, Holland in 2000 in both kata and kumite team and individual.


  • In 2006 Moussaoui Sensei trained at JKA headquarters in Tokyo, Japan and in 2008 trained at the ISKF headquarters in Philidelphia and attended the Master Camp.
  • In 2008 he was appointed Chief Instructor ISKF United Kingdom and continues to teach as a professional karate instructor.
  • In 2010, he passed an intensive examination for 6th Dan at the 44 ISKF Master Camp in Philadelphia hosted by Teruyuki Okazaki.

  • in 2013 Trained   at Oayama  Gakuin  University  in Tokyo Japan   
  •  2017 Attending  Oayama Gakuin University Annual international  Gasshuku  in Fuji Hakone   Tokyo Japan
    • Hosted 4th iskf world shoto cup London 16-22  September 2025
    • 6-13 june 2025 attended Master Camp Philadelphie   Passed Hashidan  [8th dan]
